Example, when people do maha mrityunjaya mantra for a person who is extremely sick. Manytimes the person passes away quickly Vs return to health. This is because mantras do what is most needed. So maybe it would be better for the suffering person to end the suffering, and the family members need to detach. This will happen if it’s the best course of action. But now imagine if someone did a sankalp for sadhana for the person to stay alive because they are attached to the person. Which in the end god will need to give you, because that’s how sankalpa and anushthaans work, but what you asked will just increase suffering and is not aligned to the greater good. You can imagine in such a situation the deity may not be pleased. And you might get all types of signs of the displeasure of the deity. So what needs to be done? You should switch from sakaam to nishkaam at this stage. And still complete the sankalp. You can imagine the devta will do something which is in everyone’s best interest. —————————————— Logic of nishkaam sankalp Kaam cannot be avoided When you do a nishkaam sankalp, the devta will help you. However, now he is free to do as he pleases. Maybe a lady is destined to be a house wise and support her family and kids in the best way possible so they are successful. However let’s say this lady always does sakaam sankalps for career success. Which is not in her and her larger future families best interest. She does nishkam sankalp once and suddenly she gets married. The devta now triggered her on a path that was the best for her. You can repeat this scenario with anyone in any life situation. ———————————————- Nishkaam sankalpa - powering them up Let’s now say someone goes a bit mad, and steps it up. Let’s say does sankalp for Hanuman ji that he wants to be his daas (servant) just like Hanuman ji was Ram daas. Now suddenly maybe this person becomes a writer or someone like Bageshwar dham baba, so he can help people in large masses. And maybe Hanuman Ji gifts him with a siddhi. But compare this to a scenario where someone just wants to get some more money to get a private yacht and have fun, while not being there for the family. You can see how this will not work at all. The devta might still give him a yacht, but forget devta being happy with this person. With sadhana / sankalp we almost force the devta to help us.
